This depends on the nature of the crash. The best-case scenario is that the hard drive was not damaged in the crash.  The worst case is that it was. In case the hard drive is damaged there are still ways to get the data off the drive. It is not always 100% successful but worth a try.

But if your data is cloud-based (What is a cloud? Its answered somewhere below) and is being backed-up in the cloud then you do not need it. Any data, application, or service that you can access over an internet connection is considered cloud-based.  For example, your credit card transactions are cloud-based because an internet connection is required.

A lot of applications used by small businesses in today's time are cloud-based. 

So, rain, storm or sunshine, you will have access to these systems as long as you have the Internet.
